Lunch Reception at St.Ann's Catholic Church, Colonial Heights,VA E-mail
A BIG Thank You to the organizers for the lunch reception of the Walkers at St.Ann's Catholic Church Sunday afternoon. It was a wonderful break after the 18 mile walk which had started at 5 a.m. at Southside Community College in Lawrenceville,VA.

Thank you to the Pastor for making his beautiful old sanctuary available and for allowing us to drum and dance, and thank you to the kitchen staff (your food was awesome, Mary Laughing ).

A very special Thank You to Ken Adams, Chief of the Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe, who came to greet the Walkers. He welcomed everybody to this historical area by the James River and also made refernce to that day's camp at Pocahontas Park. Then Chief Adams honored the LW2 by gifting the elders, including 76 year old Boston Marathon runner Emmett Eastman (Wahpeton) and members of the buddhist community that are part of the LW2.

The young and older participants of LW2 are walking for all of us, for Mother Earth and for the future generations. They need our support. Many have left everything to be able to walking their prayers across this continent. Some do not yet know how they will be able to get back home. There are days when people have to go without breakfast and lunch and walk the 18+/- miles a day with an empty stomach. If you are one who reads this and can make a difference or have contacts who can, please do so now. We all share this planet. If we do not take care of it and of each other in this circle of life we will all go hungry in the future.

Again, thank you St.Ann's, thank you Chief Adams, thank you to all walkers and organizers.
With respect and love,
Rose Beckmann, VA
