My name is Wille Sittinghorse-Kirk and I'm from Portland, Oregon. My reservation is Warm Springs, Or and Chippewa-Cree in Rocky Boys, Montana.

I already feel like I'm doing something for Mother Earth. I'm on this walk for all of our lives-- for our future lives. For the lives of our kids, including my daughter Aryanna, and our kid's kids. I walk for my family and friends, and all these new family and friends that I'm meeting along this walk.

I feel like I'm already helping because we are all working for the Mother. I also walk for my sobriety and for my dancinig. I'm a Grass Dancer, you know I gave up five months of dancing Pow Wows to be here, but that's okay. The Grass Dance comes from the Omaha peoples, their dancing paves the way for all other dancers to come forward and start their celebrations, we prepare for them. I've been a Grass Dancer for 10 years now, but I started as a traditional dancer when I was 2, brought in through my Uncle. There was a time when I didn't dance..when I was running with the wrong crowd. But I left all that behind. I was a fighter, but now I fight for Mother Earth. I am not doing this for my own recognition; I'm doing this for all of us, that's all that matters to me, the people and Mother Earth.

nice. sober life is awesome ! keep a steady pace one step at a time ! there is no activity more like recovery than the longest walk. Sobriety is like a long walk, that you do one step at a time.
