I consider myself a Californian, not an American citizen. I'm here to support the cleaning of our Mother Earth. I'm here to give back to the Native Peoples who have given me the opportunity to live on the North American continent as they have sacrificed their people an their culture over time.
I'm walking to honor my family and all of the struggle they are going through in order to help them heal.
I'm walking to end the war in Iraq and all war in general. On my backpack I carry a flag with the handprints of my two nephews on it. These are the hands of my Warrior Brother's sons. He is fighting a war for a country who has lost its way. I carry their handprints from California to D.C. to honor my brother's sacrifice for his famiy.
I want to promote cultural unity around the world. We are all created equal as beings on this Earth.
I want to bring awarenes to the masses that all life is Sacred.
I walk across this nation with only one fully functional knee because as a poor American I was not able to afford health care. Therefore I live with this disability and in doing so I would like to bring attention to the fact that our government cares more for the health insurance company's financial gain than the health of their own people...and that needs to change.
I want to tell the world that we need to start living as compassionate people and care for one another.
In my closing words I would like to say simply: One Love, One People, Peace

Wade, I cannot expect to be able to completely express exactly how extremely proud I am of you for seizings this great opportunity to do something so right for all the right reasons. But I will try. I know as well as you that are family highly cares for and respects all life and the cradle that is mother earth, for mother earth is considered as the source of all its living beings and inanimate things.
I hurt to know that our path into Northern America and the America as we know it now was in the form of genocide, but no one ever expresses it that way. But we know that it amounted to the deliberate killing and suppression of a large group of people, esp. those of a particular ethnic group or nation. And I find myself ashamed as a human being that the masses have never seemed to truely care and/or express it that way.
I am also ashamed to see how greed has plagued this earth we live in, and how the majority of the masses choose not to give cause or care for mother earth.
I so wish that I could join you and all the wonderfully brave people that are participating is this great message and cause.
But as I sit here in my rented 12x12 room writing you this I realize that I am a slave, not to the highest horrors of the word, but a slave to corporate america, for it has such made me a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them. A person who works very hard without proper remuneration or appreciation. And for what? So that I can have a car and payment which has become a nessesity just so I can drive back to the same enslavement of corporate america time and time again in a vicious circle?
But do not fret my righteous brother, because of you and one other person that has awaken the man in me to believe in myself and realize that I am capable of great things. I will soon break my chains of bondage to corporate america and create a righteous life not only for me, but for all those around me, for all mankind and our mother earth.
God speed to you and all that are with you.
I love you my brother!
J
