I consider myself a Californian, not an American citizen. I'm here to support the cleaning of our Mother Earth. I'm here to give back to the Native Peoples who have given me the opportunity to live on the North American continent as they have sacrificed their people an their culture over time.

I'm walking to honor my family and all of the struggle they are going through in order to help them heal.

I'm walking to end the war in Iraq and all war in general. On my backpack I carry a flag with the handprints of my two nephews on it. These are the hands of my Warrior Brother's sons. He is fighting a war for a country who has lost its way. I carry their handprints from California to D.C. to honor my brother's sacrifice for his famiy.

I want to promote cultural unity around the world. We are all created equal as beings on this Earth.

I want to bring awarenes to the masses that all life is Sacred.

I walk across this nation with only one fully functional knee because as a poor American I was not able to afford health care. Therefore I live with this disability and in doing so I would like to bring attention to the fact that our government cares more for the health insurance company's financial gain than the health of their own people...and that needs to change.

I want to tell the world that we need to start living as compassionate people and care for one another.

In my closing words I would like to say simply: One Love, One People, Peace

My Righteous Brother
written by rasenjumble1969, February 23, 2008
To my righteous brother!
Wade, I cannot expect to be able to completely express exactly how extremely proud I am of you for seizings this great opportunity to do something so right for all the right reasons. But I will try. I know as well as you that are family highly cares for and respects all life and the cradle that is mother earth, for mother earth is considered as the source of all its living beings and inanimate things.

I hurt to know that our path into Northern America and the America as we know it now was in the form of genocide, but no one ever expresses it that way. But we know that it amounted to the deliberate killing and suppression of a large group of people, esp. those of a particular ethnic group or nation. And I find myself ashamed as a human being that the masses have never seemed to truely care and/or express it that way.

I am also ashamed to see how greed has plagued this earth we live in, and how the majority of the masses choose not to give cause or care for mother earth.

I so wish that I could join you and all the wonderfully brave people that are participating is this great message and cause.

But as I sit here in my rented 12x12 room writing you this I realize that I am a slave, not to the highest horrors of the word, but a slave to corporate america, for it has such made me a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them. A person who works very hard without proper remuneration or appreciation. And for what? So that I can have a car and payment which has become a nessesity just so I can drive back to the same enslavement of corporate america time and time again in a vicious circle?

But do not fret my righteous brother, because of you and one other person that has awaken the man in me to believe in myself and realize that I am capable of great things. I will soon break my chains of bondage to corporate america and create a righteous life not only for me, but for all those around me, for all mankind and our mother earth.

God speed to you and all that are with you.

I love you my brother!

SOUL BROTHER
written by rumblelove, February 23, 2008
As I sit and watch my daughter grow like a weed on a daily basis I can't help but stop and think "I wonder how Wades doing, what he's seeing and feeling". I see your photos come across the web, a proud bearded young man with a fire in his eye. I have shared your story of your journey with so many, I get two reactions when I tell them what your doing out there, "Thats nuts" or "Thats awesome, unbelievable". I try to explain but very few understand the significance. Keep on walking my friend and I will be waiting for you to return for a Soul Brother Jam.

Talking to you this morning was wonderful! You sound amazingly happy and at peace - at last. You were born for a purpose Wade. You have a voice and it is being heard and read. You have always had a gift, an art, with music, words, paint, stone any and everything earth has given you. Now is your time to use it to the fullest potential. I have read your brothers comments, they say all I wish I could express but do it so much better than I can. We are a great family! I thank you all for the fellowship and prayers. My health is getting better because of your faith and belief and the love we share every moment. I look forward to reading more and hope you can write often, call too! I send you love from Kris and Karen, from Ryan and from the rest of our family. They all are following your journey and believe in you. Take care of your knee and let me know if you need anything. I will do what I can. Enjoy the time with your dad; I am happy he is there for you. I love you Wade; mom
A song by Eddie Vedder, "Guaranteed" made me think of you
written by rasenjumble1969, February 25, 2008

On bended knee is no way to be free. Lifting up an empty cup, I ask silently. All my destinations will accept the one that's me. So I can breathe.

Circles they grow and they swallow people whole. Half their lives they say goodnight to wives they'll never know. A mind full of questions, and a teacher in my soul. And so it goes.

Don't come closer or I'll have to go. Holding me like gravity are places that pull. If ever there was someone to keep me at home. It would be you.

Everyone I come across, in cages they bought. They think of me and my wandering, but I'm never what they thought. I've got my indignation, but I'm pure in all my thoughts. I'm alive.

Wind in my hair, I feel part of everywhere. Underneath my being is a road that disappeared. Late at night I hear the trees, they're singing with the dead. Overhead.

Leave it to me as I find a way to be. Consider me a satellite, forever orbiting. I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me. Guaranteed.

smilies/grin.gif just spoke to dude dad - his experiences visiting you on your journey convey a sense of peace and spirituality, we have long talked about bringing to our own places and people. I am grateful you are there soaking it up and giving it back. You are in my thoughts and prayers, as are the others who join you on this journey. My soul has been heavy with the fake and foul constraints we have created and forced upon the creatures of our Mother Earth, with the violence and pain in all its forms we inflict upon each other, with the powerful and greedy that consciously choose the stupidity of money over spirit and yet I forgive them, pray for my own consciousness and divine directions for my own peaceful righteous paths and through many blessings, including this great undertaking you and your fellow walkers endure, my soul and my hope for the world I envision, is renewed and inspired. Be well, be mindful, feel the love that is constantly sent your way from all your brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers - all your relations! Bright blessings to all. xo

meeting with you the other night gave me such peace and joy. the people you introduced Ryan and I too were incredibly people. they made us feel as if we had known each other a life time instead of only minutes...it is clear why this is so important to you and even more clear as to its purpose and need. the work you guys are doing is truly a sacred event. I left after such a short visit filled with hope and peace and utter satisfaction that my son is where he should be at this time in his life and that what he is doing has a deep and sincere meaning. to all of you who helped me to unite with Wade, thank you. it was a true surprise for him and gave me more happiness than any of you can imagine! it filled me with a great tenderness to see him surrounded by so much energy and true fellowship. If my health would allow it I would join you in your mission, but that can not be so I send you all my prayers for strength and continued success. I will join you as I can during your quest, or as Wade told you when I surprised him on Wednesday evening, I will blow in like the wind...Wade I hope the dolphins bring you the tranquility and inner peace that they do for me. Take them on your journey and keep me close by you at all times. I love you and will talk to you soon. I am with your "warrior brother" for a period of time now. Landon typed the earlier email and said exactly what he wanted to say - he is 4 after all. Everyone is fine and sends their love and support.

I miss you and want you to know how much I love you and bless the day you were brought into this world and into my life.

good luck with this next part of your journey. you have risen above the hypocrisy and unjustness and continue to find the strength and spirit that is the backbone of what this walk was supposed to be about to begin with. I applaud you and the many others who had their eyes opened and yet march forward with purpose and dedication to all people and to our beautiful planet. never loose that inner peace and determination to make a difference. to those of you headed to Louisiana, thank you for the assistance you will give my native homeland. it was a great pleasure to spend some quality time with all of you and get to learn about and become friends with others with the same beautiful heart and soul.
