Alcatraz Sunrise Ceremony Beginning 2-11-08 |

The ceremony began with a formation of flags, and staffs from all of
our relations. As the crowd came off the ferry boats, representatives
from the four directions stood on the steps as they did 30 years
before. The birds flew overhead, the sun slowly woke up, and the music
and prayer started. The start of the Longest Walk was a moment frozen
in time, a spiritual moment that will not be forgotten or ignored.
Mother Earth was smiling on us all.
